Notes: His obituary in the Grahamstown Journal says that "for the last 30 years, Mr Muir lived in the Wodehouse District and for 25 years he was quite blind". Notes: He was a member of Gush's division of Sephton's Party of 1820 settlers and was granted land in Salem, although he seems to have continued his trade of tailor soon after his arrival, and moved to Grahamstown for this purpose. Although he spelt his surname as "Muire", most of the following generation changed to the present spelling.- William Jervois William married Mary Ann WINTER in 1816. They left on 10 January 1820 and arrived in Table Bay on 20 March and Algoa Bay on 29 April 1820..
