Rachel: She is thought to have been a daughter of Joseph King of Bradshaw's party, by his second wife, Ann, who died in 1823.

Rachel KING born 28 Nov 1823 was the daughter of Richard KING and Rose. She died in 1886 and married William James MUIR on the 11 July 1842 in

Grahamstown.

Rachel married William James MUIR on 11 Jul 1842 in Grahamstad. William (son of William MUIR and Mary Ann WINTER) was born on 25 Sep 1818 in Maidavale, Middlesex, Engeland; died on 26 Dec 1905 in Dordrecht. [Group Sheet]

1. Emily Amelia MUIR was born on 22 Aug 1842 in Salem; died on 8 Sep 1914 in Lady Frere.

Notes:

Joseph King and his family sailed from Bristol aboard the 'Kennersley Castle' with Bradshaws party of 1820 settlers. They left on 10 January 1820 and arrived in Table Bay on 20 March and Algoa Bay on 29 April 1820.. They were located in Albany on the Torrens River and the location named "New Gloucester"
